The annual home show in Moncton is an event my people and I love to attend. As an art buff and critic, I know a lot about interior and exterior design. Currently, along with my many other projects, I am helping my people renovate our large Victorian house. I am also a DIY nut! Except I get my people to do it...
The first booth we looked at had art. My favorite is the bright red one on the upper left. I see a lot of intensity in this piece. It makes me feel like ketchup.
This smashing stained glass door is very Art Deco, my favorite design movement! Decorative arts developed in the mid 1920’s from cubism and futurism, a stark contrast from the earlier “Art Nouveau” design. Art deco is known for its smooth lines, sweeping curves, bold stepped forms and balanced geometric patterns. This trend continued to spread its starbursts internationally, throughout the thirties.
Oooh…….fire!…. 
Anyone else have to use the litterbox?
Many amateurs do not know the easiest and most inexpensive way to drastically change décor is to change your light fixtures! These are my two favorite chandeliers.

The home show has a plethora of inspiring booths covering home beauty to family health. There was even an informative anti-tobacco presentation in which I partook enthusiastically!
Tobacco smoking kills 45,000 human Canadians per year. No one knows how many cats die from second hand smoke though
This lovely lady appears fine on the outside, but is suffering from a diseased lung. Smoking inhibits your lungs from cleaning themselves so they end up looking like this.
Here is a model of what smoking does to your mouth. Horrifying! Smoking also causes heart disease, different types of cancers, strokes, impotence, macular degeneration, infertility, dementia, and permanent facial wrinkles. Hey! What is wrong with facial wrinkles?
This is a frog preserved in formaldehyde. There are no dead frogs in cigarettes, but they do contain over 4,000 chemicals, including 43 known cancer-causing compounds and 400 other toxins. These include formaldehyde, nicotine, tar, and carbon monoxide, ammonia, cyanide, arsenic, and DDT. 
Here is an example of tar, a mixture of substances that together form a sticky mass in the lungs. As a cigarette is smoked, the amount of tar inhaled into the lungs increases, and the last puff contains more than twice as much tar as the first puff.

Oooh. Saintpaulia Ionantha from the family Gesneriaceae. Also known as the "African Violet", this plant is native to Tanzania and eastern tropical Africa. This pinwheel flowered variety is a periclinal chimera which is a common horticultural mutation. To those of you who are not expert botanists like myself, this means the genetic material in the blue part of the flower is different than the white part. Remarkable!

Mike and I like to refer to each other as “2am friends”. For those not familiar with that term, it summarises a relationship founded on 100 % dependability, no matter what the time or circumstance. Like the time I almost married an Elvis impersonator in Vegas one night after buying 4 lbs of catnip (for personal use)....and Mike....I can not apologise enough for the incident with the rubber chicken.
Huh. A miniature house complete with car and landscaping. I will take it! 
Where are the bubbles? I only take my baths with bubbles and rubber duckies…… Excuse me, Garcon? Where are the rubber duckies?

Well that is a wrap! I give the Moncton Homeshow 4 meows out of 5. The only thing it was missing was household pet paraphenelia such as houses, pet doors etc.
